DESIGN

As a designer, I’m interested in exploring various mediums of design. This ranges from digital UX/UI design, to branding and even performance design. I want to further explore the spaces that we as humans inhabit, both physically, digitally and spiritually, to create a visually stronger and better communicative means.

WRITING

Aside from designing, I am also passionate about writing. I constantly writes articles that are about real life issues I’m concerned about, whether it be personally or out there in the real world. The following are articles I have written in my spare time - many of them have been published in the UTS’ Vertigo magazine, and others didn’t make the cut. Along with my designs, I hope to further my writing skills and be a clear communicator of relevant stories.

THE MORNING OF EID ︎
A narration of a typical Eid for a minority in a Western country.

SUGAR AND SPICE ︎
How the popular 90’s cartoon defied the societal expectations of its time.

K-POP CULT FANDOMS ︎
The intrusive and obsessiveness of K-Pop fans and the manipulation of the K-Pop industry.

INTERGENERATIONAL PATTERNS ︎
An account of how expectations can differ from one generation to another.
EAST ASIA: THE FORCE BEHIND STAR WARS ︎
What’s the source of the global franchise’s stories and characters?

MY MUSLIM BODY IS NOT A BATTLEGROUND ︎
What does it take for a Muslim woman to gain autonomy over her own body?

PREJUDICED TECHNOLOGY ︎
How does current and future technologies oppose the empathies of the human mind?

WHO IS NAVY

about me

Navira (or simply Navy), is an dynamic designer and conceptual thinker who has just completed her Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication at the University of Technology Sydney. Her main interest lies in design thinking, using her wit and perception to create designs that are bold and striking. Always armed with her massive TARDIS mug and various K-Pop playlists, she designs intuitive works that make sense with the way her audiences would interact with her works. She hopes to use her inquisitiveness to tell impacting stories through web, editorial and performance design. She aims to explore the unknown corners of design and become a design academic that questions these wonders.
